New Instagram Threads Features Let You Schedule Posts and Add Fun Touches All You Need to Know

A standout feature now available to Threads users is the ability to schedule posts directly within the app. This function can be accessed via the three-dot menu on the post composer screen, where users can select “Schedule,” set their desired date and time, and then confirm by selecting “Schedule” again. These posts will be stored in the drafts folder, allowing for any necessary edits or deletions prior to going live.

Adam Mosseri emphasized the significance of this update, stating, “Now, more than ever, creators and brands are looking for efficiency in how they manage their social media. The ability to schedule posts on Threads not only saves time but also allows our users to plan their content strategy with precision.”

Moreover, Threads is enhancing its Insights dashboard. Users can now delve deeper into metrics for individual posts, tracking trends such as view counts, follower demographics, interactions, and moreover specific time periods. This data-driven approach provides valuable insights, helping users to tailor their content more effectively to their audience.

Introducing Markup: A Creative Twist on Content Sharing

Another intriguing addition to Threads is the markup feature, which enables users to add personal touches to the posts they share. With tools like a highlighter pen or arrow tool, users can directly draw on or annotate posts. This feature represents an innovative way for individuals to express their creativity and add a unique spin to shared content.

Though the consumer demand for direct post-markup tools has been modest, Threads aims to offer something distinctive that sets it apart from competitors like X, Bluesky, and Mastodon. As noted by technology enthusiast Chris Messina, this feature could enhance user interaction by enabling more personalized content curation and sharing.
