Say Goodbye to Dead Phones Swippitt's New Charging Hub Powers Up Your Family's Devices in Seconds

In today’s mobile-reliant world, the fear of a dying phone battery is universal. Enter Swippitt, a groundbreaking device unveiled at CES 2025 that promises to change the way families charge their devices, potentially ending the era of battery anxiety for good.

The Swippitt Hub, a compact device resembling a toaster, allows users to swap a depleted phone battery for a fully charged one in mere seconds. This innovative system is especially beneficial for families, enabling multiple users to keep their phones powered without the wait.

How Swippitt Works: A Game-Changer in Mobile Convenience

Designed for ease of use, the Swippitt Hub works by inserting a phone encased in a special “Link” into the unit. The Hub then automatically exchanges the phone’s spent battery with a freshly charged one from its internal store of five batteries.

Padraic Connolly, CEO of Swippitt, highlights the device’s family-friendly focus, “An accompanying app allows parents to monitor their children’s battery levels and see when they’ve swapped out their battery, reducing worries about whether their teenager’s phone might die when they are out and about.”

Compatibility and Practicality: Designed for Major Smartphone Brands

Swippitt isn’t just innovative; it’s also practical. The system requires a specific case to function, currently available for iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, with plans to expand to Google Pixel handsets. Each battery boasts a capacity of 3,500mAh, offering an impressive 50% to 90% extra battery life, depending on the phone model.

Moreover, the Swippitt case includes a USB-C socket at the base, allowing for conventional charging if needed, ensuring that users can charge on the go without being tethered to a Swippitt Hub.

Beyond the Home: Swippitt’s Vision for a Connected World

The vision for Swippitt extends beyond individual households. The universal design of the batteries means they can be swapped at any Swippitt Hub, whether at a friend’s house, in the workplace, or at public venues like hotels. This feature could significantly alter how we manage mobile battery life, offering unprecedented convenience and flexibility.

Swippitt is also committed to environmental sustainability, with a robust system in place for battery recycling. “Customers can send back their used Links, and we take care of recovering and recycling the battery components,” explains Connolly.

Pricing and Availability: Investing in Convenience

The biggest hurdle for potential buyers might be the price. The Swippitt Hub retails for $450, though a pre-order discount offers significant savings. Individual Links, which include one battery, are priced at $125 each. The device is set to be available for pre-order on the Swippitt website and is expected to start shipping in June. It comes in two sleek colours: black and white.

As mobile phones continue to be central to both personal and professional lives, Swippitt offers a promising solution to one of the most persistent problems of the digital age: battery depletion. With its quick-swap battery system, Swippitt enhances mobile phone usage and integrates seamlessly into the modern family’s lifestyle, making it an investment worth considering for anyone looking to keep their devices charged and ready.
