Microsoft Just Brought Its New AI Tools to More Windows 11 PCs — Here’s What You Can Try Now

In a strategic move that underscores its commitment to accessibility and innovation, Microsoft has announced a significant expansion of AI features across its Copilot Plus PCs that are powered by Intel and AMD processors. This update marks a noteworthy step in making cutting-edge technology universally accessible, integrating tools like Live Captions, Cocreator, and advanced voice access into everyday computing.

Breaking language barriers with AI: Microsoft’s new Live Captions feature

Live Captions Break Language Barriers

One of the standout features in this latest update is Live Captions. Initially tested on Intel and AMD devices last December, Live Captions can now translate audio into English subtitles from dozens of languages in real-time. This feature, available through the latest Windows 11 update, aims to dismantle communication barriers and enhance the user experience, making digital content more accessible to a global audience.

Introducing Cocreator: A Leap in Creative AI

Also included in the update is Cocreator, an innovative AI tool integrated into Microsoft’s Paint application. Cocreator enhances the creative process by generating images based on both the user’s drawings and text prompts. This tool exemplifies how AI can augment human creativity, providing users with a unique blend of manual input and AI-driven output.

Expanding AI Tools Across Platforms

Previously exclusive to Copilot Plus PCs with Qualcomm chips, these AI enhancements are now being tested and released for Intel and AMD-based systems as well. Microsoft also teased upcoming features like Recall, an AI tool that captures screenshots of user activity and allows for easy retrieval through search functionality.
Moreover, Microsoft is not stopping there. The company is actively working on enhancing Voice Access, an accessibility feature that enables users to control their PCs using voice commands. Initially available on Qualcomm-powered devices, Voice Access will soon support more descriptive and flexible language usage, along with the ability to translate 27 languages into Simplified Chinese.
