iPhone 17 Leaks Reveal Apple's Thinnest Design Yet, Big Camera Changes, and a Surprise Model Shakeup

Rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will set a new standard for slimness in the smartphone industry. According to a credible source, Ice Universe, the model will boast a thickness of just 5.5 mm. This design feat will make the iPhone 17 Air the thinnest iPhone ever, as per the details shared on the social platform X on March 7. The dimensions for this ultra-thin device are expected to mirror those of its predecessor, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with a length of 163 mm and a width of 77.6 mm, featuring a large 6.9-inch screen.

Design and Durability: A Closer Look at iPhone 17 Models

The iPhone 17 series is set to offer varied thicknesses across its models to accommodate new hardware enhancements. The standard iPhone 17 might measure about 7.6 mm in thickness, while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could be slightly bulkier at approximately 8.6 mm due to their larger batteries and improved camera systems.

A notable design shift is also on the horizon for the camera setups. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a camera design reminiscent of Google’s Pixel, with a single lens prominently positioned on a raised, elongated island. This change not only affects aesthetics but also contributes to the device’s stability on flat surfaces, addressing the wobble issues observed in the iPhone 16 Pro models.

Camera Innovations: Enhancing Photographic Capabilities

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to inherit a robust camera system, equipped with a triple-lens setup that further bulks up the camera island. These models aim to offer superior photography capabilities, potentially setting new benchmarks for mobile imaging.

Further leaks from OreXda reveal that both the iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro Max will sport impressive screen resolutions of 2796 x 1290 pixels and 2868 x 1320 pixels, respectively. Additionally, camera resolutions are expected to be enhanced, with both models featuring a 48 MP rear camera and a 12 MP front camera.

Storage and Future Prospects

In terms of storage, the iPhone 17 Air will start at 128GB, while the higher-end iPhone 17 Pro Max will offer a starting capacity of 256GB. These options ensure that users have ample space for all their needs, from high-resolution photos and videos to apps and other data.

Anticipated Changes in the iPhone Lineup

In an interesting twist, Mark Gurman has hinted that the iPhone 17 lineup will introduce the first ‘iPhone Air,’ expected to replace the current Plus model. This new addition could potentially offer a more affordable, lighter, and less powerful alternative within the Apple product range.

As September approaches, all eyes will be on Apple to unveil these exciting new additions and confirm the details that have the tech community abuzz. The iPhone 17 could indeed be a game-changer, combining unprecedented slimness with cutting-edge technology, setting a new standard for what users expect from their smartphones.
