Samsung's Game-Changing Audio Update: Galaxy S24 Series Gets Loudness Normalization Feature in One UI 7 Beta

Samsung’s commitment to enhancing user experience through innovative technology takes another leap forward as the loudness normalization feature, previously exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, is now integrated into the broader Galaxy S24 series through the One UI 7 beta update. This advancement promises a more consistent audio experience, mitigating the abrupt changes in volume that can disrupt media enjoyment.

Transforming Audio Experience Across Devices

Loudness normalization, initially unveiled in One UI 6.1.1 for high-end models like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, addresses a common frustration among smartphone users: inconsistent volume levels across different media types. Whether streaming music, watching videos, or playing games, users often find themselves manually adjusting volume levels to maintain a comfortable listening experience.

The feature operates by automatically adjusting the media volume to maintain consistent loudness, ensuring that no track or video is too loud or too quiet compared to others. This not only enhances user convenience but also contributes to a more enjoyable and immersive audio experience.

Wider Availability with One UI 7

While the feature was not rolled out in subsequent One UI 6.1 updates for other Galaxy devices, the One UI 7 beta has finally brought this sought-after functionality to the Galaxy S24 series. According to a discovery by Reddit user FragmentedChicken, this feature is now accessible under the “Sound quality and effects” settings, or directly via the Quick Settings panel by pressing and holding the volume slider.

Though currently limited to the Galaxy S24 series in the beta phase, it is anticipated that Samsung will extend this feature to additional models in the final One UI 7 update. This move signifies Samsung’s ongoing commitment to uniformity in user experience across its product lineup.

Beyond Loudness Normalization

The One UI 6.1.1 update also introduced another popular audio feature, the dialogue boost, which enhances speech clarity in media playback. Although this feature has not yet appeared in the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24, there is potential for its inclusion in future beta releases or the final update, providing users with even more refined audio control capabilities.

Samsung’s introduction of loudness normalization to the Galaxy S24 series as part of the One UI 7 beta represents a significant enhancement in the multimedia experience across its smartphone range. As Samsung continues to innovate and refine its software capabilities, users can look forward to more consistent and high-quality audio experiences. This is just one example of how Samsung remains at the forefront of technology, continuously seeking to improve its user interface and device functionality across all models.
