Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: FCC Leak Reveals Key Features and a Few Disappointments Ahead of Launch

As the tech world buzzes with anticipation, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series is already making headlines, thanks to a recent showcase on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website. The new listings not only confirm several anticipated features for the 2025 flagship lineup but also reveal a mix of advancements and steady holds in technology, setting the stage for what might be a pivotal release for Samsung.

Tech Specs: What’s New and What’s Not

Spotted by technology enthusiasts and reported by 91mobiles, the FCC listings have unveiled model numbers for the eagerly awaited Galaxy S25 series: SM-931U for the Galaxy S25, SM-936U for the S25 Plus, and SM-938U for the S25 Ultra. Each model is confirmed to support 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and NFC, ensuring that the devices are equipped with all modern connectivity conveniences. Notably, the Galaxy S25 Ultra continues to include the beloved S Pen, marked by the model number EJ-PS938, enhancing the device’s appeal to professional and creative users.

While the Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra will boast Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support, perfect for precision tracking and locating lost devices, the standard Galaxy S25 model will not feature UWB, continuing a trend seen in previous models. The charging capabilities present a similar scenario of old meets new. The Galaxy S25 maintains a 25W wired charging capacity, consistent with last year’s model, and offers 9W of reverse wireless charging. On the other hand, the S25 Plus and Ultra models stick with the 45W wired fast charging, promising quick power-ups for users on the go.

Although the FCC filings do not detail battery capacities, industry rumors and past trends suggest that the battery sizes will remain aligned with those of the Galaxy S24 series. Underpinning the performance of these devices, Samsung is expected to deploy the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset across the board, ensuring top-tier processing power that can handle everything from everyday tasks to intensive gaming sessions.

A January Surprise?

Typically, Samsung unveils its S series in January, and if the current schedule holds, January 2025 will be a significant month for both the company and its customers. While the FCC filings provide a glimpse into what we can expect, the true excitement lies in what Samsung has yet to reveal. Tech enthusiasts and loyal customers alike are hopeful for a few surprises that could redefine the smartphone experience.
