In a surprising turn of events, Illinois has been swept into a growing crisis involving one of the nation’s favorite water brands. What’s in the Water?

The bottles in question were discovered to have elevated levels of manganese and were found to harbor three bacterial genera. These contaminants pose significant risks, particularly to the nervous system, and could lead to brain damage if consumed in substantial amounts, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). For those who frequent the bottled water aisles, here are the crucial details to watch for:

  • UPC Code: 6 32565 00004 3
  • Bottle UPC Code: 6 32565 00001 2
  • Product Quantity: 78,533 cases
  • Code Information: Check for production dates of Nov. 11, Nov. 12, Nov. 13, Nov. 24, and Nov. 25, 2023

Consumers possessing any bottles matching these descriptions are advised to either dispose of them or return them to their purchase location for a refund. The CDC has further cautioned that besides potential neurological effects, high manganese levels might also interfere with reproductive health.
